Baltimore, Md. (April 15, 2019) – Ripken Baseball today announced Michael Kenney as its Executive Vice President. Kenney will be responsible for the management, business development and growth of baseball tournaments and programming innovations at The Ripken Experience complexes in Maryland, South Carolina, Tennessee and future facilities expansion.
“We are excited to have Mike join the team and lead the continued growth of our youth baseball business,” said Cal Ripken, Jr., President of Ripken Baseball. “Mike has had an impressive career and his experience will help lead us to the next level.”
Prior to Ripken Baseball, Kenney served as Executive Vice President of Live Event Marketing for the Harlem Globetrotters. While with the Globetrotters, Kenney was instrumental in the resurgence of the Harlem Globetrotter brand, and dramatically increased attendance through industry-leading marketing campaigns. Kenney produced record grossing domestic tour revenues during his 10 plus years with the Globetrotters. Kenney previously worked as Director of Marketing for Comcast-Spectator where he oversaw sporting event marketing and publicity campaigns in Philadelphia and Norfolk, Virginia.

LionTree Partners LLC, an investor and partner of Ripken Baseball, was instrumental in bringing Kenney onto the Ripken Baseball team. Kenney is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management.
